Have you hidden under a rock last year? If so you might not know much about the new trends in electrical transportation tools like the electric scooter, segway, hoverboards and so on. Since last summer this market has been exploding, literally exploding due to the hoverboards but not only in exact terms. This market is expanding quickly and it’s nothing we’ve missed here at Motormallard.
When Segways started to surface a few years back I have to acknowledge that I was pretty tempted in buying one, but the prices made me back down pretty fast. 8 grand for a cheaper model wasn’t something I felt like investing. However, at almost every single car show we go to these days. There are people riding around on hoverboards and electric scooters. Lazy one can think, but it’s actually a really good way to get around the shows with ease and there is actually one that has caught my eyes lately.
An electric scooter that reflects the man riding it
As some of you might already know I’m not the smallest guy in town, nor am I the biggest either but somewhere in the middle according to American standards. If you’re from another country you’d probably call me fat but that’s where this new toy comes into play. It even explains me as a rider: “Fat Boy Electric Scooter”. A newly designed electric scooter so that even us big boys can come out to play. This will ease the pressure on my sore feet after 3 days of walking around car-shows. I’ve read a few news articles over at Daily-mail and read some reviews on the latest and greatest of electric scooters.
Just look at the specifics below.
Engine 250W/1000W hub motor
Performance: 48V/ 20Ah
Battery: Li-ion battery management system
Charging: 1-3 hours depending on the charger
Speed: up to 25km/15mph
Range: up to 35km/22 miles
ImpulseDrive: Range up to 55km/34miles
Car shows are a pain in the … feets
There are both small and big car shows and whilst the smaller ones are easy to walk through the bigger ones can be much more enjoyable if you have a good commute. Walking around a bigger show like Auto Show Austin can be really fun but every time we leave my feet are killing me. We always stay for the whole thing and since we show some of our own pride and joy we need to be there standing up and explaining our stories to the people. We also speak at some of these events and if you love big motorized vehicles as we do you know that time flies away as soon as you start talking about your passion for cars. A 30-minute speech can turn into a 90-minute seminar without you even thinking about it, but after a while: your feet and back will start giving you a heads up that you’ve spent too much time standing up. Therefore I think this new electric fat boy could be a really good investment for us on the bigger shows. I’ll probably use it pretty frequently at home too, I can already see myself riding to the store with one of these cool things. Will have to look for a little bit more before I buy an electric scooter. But the speed and distance seem to be the highest on this one and of course that is the most important part of the purchase.
VW recently showed its first sketches of their new electric vehicle. Volkswagen has just shown its all-electric study through a set of sketches. A few days ago the German car manufacturer art is the model ahead of its 2016 Paris auto show debut saying the vehicle is as revolutionary as the beetle announced seven decades ago. Before it evolved into the world’s best-selling car of the last century so this won’t be just another eye grabbing concept made for showing off instead Volkswagen will put it into production around the Year 2019. This study is the second step invoke swaggins plan to confine the dieselgate saga in the history books by focusing its resources on electrical vehicles. Visually it looks like a mash-up between the up and the Golf sporting sliding rear doors and futuristic accents according to Autocar the production the car is based on it will be a true focus wagon offering casts a traveling interior space in the Golf size. Suit moreover the vehicle will be underpinned by the new modular electrification kit meb and offer between 250 and 300 miles that is 400 kilometers to 482 kilometers of traveling range on a single charge that will take only 15 minutes to recharge. Spectacular that they are trying to move over to using electrical vehicles.
Even though we are foremost muscle engine lovers here this is a really good step for the future. I wouldn’t mind cutting down on gas costs and saving a few plats here and there while going to work every day. It’s not like you’re able to drive fast on your way to work anyway, so why bother. If you want to drive some muscles you can always do that too. Just perhaps taking a more eco-friendly commute to work might help the bad environment get better so that we occasionally can enjoy a more powerful ride even in the future.
Yeah you read that right. Round Rock, will be hosting the biggest British car show on Friday and we’re going. Well as you know we are all about motors and of course we who live in Texas wouldn’t want to miss the upcoming British car show. I might not be a super-fan of the Brits nor their cars but they do have a few with some power underneath the hood.
But it ain’t going to be any American muscles there, except us in person and of course we do not drive. Instead of a roaring bear we’ll be hearing a meowing cat like sound, but the cars are most often very nice and well preserved which makes for a nice day in the sun (hopefully). Might even go with wearing this bad boy that I picked up last week. I will definitely be pulling this cat shirt off, especially when I’m riding my custom Harley. Might even consider taking both of them with me on Friday when we head out.
So there won’t be much more to this at the moment but I heard some of the more frantic collectors of British cars will be there so I think for everyone who will be joining us there, we’ll be in for a treat.
For those of you britts who grew up with these types of cars I think nostalgia will kick in pretty hard.
These are some of the cars we can expect to see at the TXABCD on Friday:
Triumph, MG and some mini’s will definitely be available and hopefully some of the more exotic cars like limited edition Jaguar, Aston Martin, Bentley and Morgan and probably a few rolls.
Rolls might not be too much of a big deal if you were living in Monaco where they’ll roam all corners in town. But here in the U.S this is a big deal due to the fact not many has been sold nor imported to American soil and there is definitely not many old rolls in mint condition left.
So welcome to our simple yet powerful blog. And with powerful I mean massive of raw footage and news from the motor madness that is America. As most of us who is into cars already know, we Americans are famous for our roaring big sized engine machinery and I am not talking about peckers. No, big muscle cars, Nascars, formula 1 and we almost have a derby of everything including old trimmed lawn movers and tractors. Yeah, we like our machinery roaring and we want it load!
So sit back and just enjoy the ride fellas because it’s going to be a heavy one.
